What to Wear on a Rainy Day - Because Really, It’s Not Like It’s WINTER or Anything

We’re rather cold-weather-deprived in the Philippines so I guess it’s understandable that once the rains begin, people tend to go a little nuts with whatever winter wear they may have on hand. 

Understandable, but still RIDICULOUS.

Because while the weather may be a little cooler during our rainy season, it is never actually COLD.

So yeah, enough with the winter fashion show already. This is the PHILIPPINES, not Siberia… so why don’t you just go ahead and put everything in the right column of the list below back in your baúl…

Don’t cry. You can dig them out again when you travel to another country… or ok, fine maybe BAGUIO.

I’m actually of the opinion that everyone’s “Bundle up! It’s raining!” method of choosing clothes is erroneous. Here’s what I think:

The harder it rains, the less you should wear.

Think about it. It’s so much easier (and quicker) to dry off your skin than it is to peel off all those soggy layers.

So here are my suggestions for practical rainy day gear:

Disagree? Fine… continue with your impersonation of the MATRIX… or enjoy your stay in pretend-Aspen. Collapse from heat stroke if you must.

Whatevs. :)

Just stay safe during the stormy season, and be sure to take your vitamins!
