Dashes Are Important Sometimes. Also, Syntax.

This almost happened yesterday. True story.

Okay, I’m just being an idiot again. :)

But seriously… dashes are important sometimes. Also, proper syntax. Because you never know how people will read things.

Now imagine if that notice had been worded differently…

Oh wait… scratch that…

Anyway, you get what I mean, right? Wording. It’s important.

Here’s another example to illustrate my point. This was a headline in the Inquirer the other day. (Again, true story.)

Now I’m pretty sure they meant something else, but this is the first thing that came to mind:

So let’s watch the wording, people. I’m usually not too strict about grammar on my blog, but word choices and syntax can sometimes save your reputation. (Pretty sure PNoy agrees.)

And while we’re on the topic of devastation… the rain has stopped (yay!) but relief efforts for the Philippine flood victims haven’t —- so let’s keep those donations coming!
