In Defense of Dresses: 5 Reasons We Should Wear Them

I got another question in my Tumblr inbox the other day, so YAY! It’s Reader Request time again! Here’s what it said:

And I’m not paraphrasing this time. Kris, unlike Frank, really DID write “Blog it, bitch!” :D

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I always draw myself in a dress because I really do wear dresses ALL THE TIME.

No originality whatsoever.

I’ve been doing this for years now, ever since I broke up with pants because they kept reminding me that I was gaining weight.

I do have one pair of fat pants that I wear maybe once a year when I really have to, but… they’re fat pants. Kinda loose, and since I no longer own any belts, they can be a little problematic.

I also wear shorts once in a while, usually in the summer when I’m at the beach. I rarely ever wear them in the city though. I once tried to shake things up a bit by wearing shorts to the office, and because everyone’s so used to me in a dress, they all thought the world was ending or something.

So yeah, I’m sticking to dresses…

BECAUSE THEY’RE AWESOME!!!

Here’s why I think everyone should wear them all the time:

1. Dresses are kinder than pants - especially the baggy.. er, flowy ones I like to wear. If you gain a little weight, they don’t try and get you down by squeezing the life out of you.

2. Dresses make dressing up so much simpler.

3. Dresses are pretty much always appropriate attire, no matter where you end up going.

Well, unless you’re going HIKING or whatever, but PFFT… who wants to do that stuff anyway? Geez. That’s just cray cray.

Also, an important note: If you’re going to be inappropriately attired, you’re always better off being overdressed than underdressed. Trust me on this.

4. Dresses are cooler. So if you live in a humid hellhole like I do, they’re perfect.

5. And last but definitely not least, DRESSES LET YOU EAT!!!
