A Few Suggestions on How to Make Sports BETTER

I woke up pretty early this morning, and as I was lazily stretching and debating on whether to snooze a bit more, it occurred to me that someone, somewhere in the city, was probably finishing a marathon that started at 4am or some other ungodly hour.

Really. WTH? I don’t get that. Why would anyone in their right mind get out of bed before sunrise (ON A SUNDAY!) to run around in big circles? It’s BAFFLING.
I know the more sports-minded among you are probably rolling your eyes, all “Groan…There goes that lazy cupcake-lover yowling about stuff she doesn’t know again…” but REALLY! I just don’t get sports.
I mean, aside from the obvious health benefits, what’s the draw? Why is everyone addicted to RUNNING, for example? Because honestly, here’s how I see it:

And then there’s the Philippines’ all-time favorite game - BASKETBALL. Would someone like to explain what this national craze is all about, please?

And don’t even get me started on BOXING.

BAFFLING, I tell you.
See, I’m the type of person who likes things to be useful — and preferably in more than one way. So maybe I’d understand (and maybe even like) these sports a little better if there was some sort of added benefit or service involved.
Like if runners actually served as messengers or delivery people while they were at it…

Or if basketball players used their big hands and impeccable aim to serve a higher purpose…

And boxers… hmm… they could… hmmm…

Yeah, whatever. Just be useful.
Now wouldn’t that make more sense? :)
I’m loving this idea. I’m gonna think about more suggestions to make to the National Sports Committee (or whatever they’re called) while I go walk to NOWHERE on my treadmill.

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Boxing is infinitely more complicated than “just hitting each other.” There’s...great deal...
