The Best Way to Beat The Blues

I don’t think I slept very well last night. I woke up still sleepy and sluggish, and generally feeling kind of grumpy and blech. Even coffee isn’t helping.

Ever have those days?  When absolutely nothing can perk you up? I mean, even the great news about the TRO on the Cybercrime law — which had me all “Woohoo! Yippee!” yesterday — isn’t doing it for me. No more depressing  black protest profile and cover photos! Happy stuff right? Everything’s all colorful again!

Bah.

Wow. What a grouch.

And then of course while checking out the news I had to swing by my first-ever Rappler blog and check out the comments and mood meter — and that just added to my self-imposed winter of discontent.

So I moseyed on over to Facebook instead, and saw a bunch of pictures of my friend Anna traipsing around Europe and my other friend Angie playing by the pyramids…

What fun! But no, those didn’t really cheer me up either… in fact, they did kind of the opposite.

So ummm… yeah… I guess you could say I’m having a bout of the blues.

But just before I descended into the depths of full-blown EMO mode, I saw this hilarious faux-PSA called “First World Problems” that my friend KJ posted on her wall.

And OMG, what do you know… I’m cured.

Watch it, it’s brilliant. :D

Sometimes, when you’re feeling bummed out and whiny, all you need is to be reminded that you’re being ridiculous — and that so many others have it worse than you. If the video above doesn’t work for you, this one might. It’s a little sadder, but the message is the same…

SNAP OUT OF IT!  Life, even on low days, is still pretty good. So..

Thanks KJ (and you funny PSA producers). I’m officially back on the happy trail.

Have a great (and grateful) day, people!
